Me as Royal Guard #1 in Queen Of Hearts by Spil Games.

Video games have always been a source of enjoyment for me.

First it was just playing a game, but then I began reading about them, writing about them, and finally designing my own games, where I found a whole new level of fun.

I had designed many games as a child; simple pen-and-paper role-playing games or a small game board, but always with a strong narrative focus. Later I found Twine and text adventures, allowing a whole new facet of game creation and playing with story.

I began in mobile games as a Writing Assistant, helping manage the resources for teams, before graduating up to a full Writing position. I worked in mobile, PC, and Virtual Reality as a Producer, Project Manager, Narrative Designer, and Game Designer. You can see my Portfolio here.

Having experience across these roles gave me a wide knowledge of the different pitfalls and issues that arise during game development and bring a wide range of references and tools to situations during the game development pipeline.

Alongside designing my own games, I began writing and analysing them. The one game that made me start thinking about games in a new way was Spec Ops: The Line in 2012. I had never thought about the themes and mechanics in a deep way before and after diving into meta-commentary and analysis to understand the plot, I became fixated on doing the same.

Alongside my work I continue to write theory, everything from LGBT inclusion, feminist theory, narrative analysis, and character critiques, all of which you can find in the Articles section.

Thank you for taking the time to visit my site, I hope you enjoy my work!
